Serenity was built in the 1940’s and when I bought this house I wanted it to have a bit of that classic look to it, but more importantly I wanted it to be a space where you can feel you are truly getting away from the day to day of modern life, slow down, relax. Downstairs you can meet around the dining table, read a book or connect with each other in the living room, or enjoy the yard. You can also head up to the loft for game time, or watch your favorite show on TV. Most importantly, enjoy yourselves.
Check In

Check in is anytime after 3 PM.
You will find a towel for each guest in the bathroom, and clean bed clothes on all the beds and for chilly nights, there are extra blankets in the bedroom closets.
Check Out
Check out is by 10 AM.
Our first house rule is to enjoy yourself, so you don’t need to worry about a list of things to do before you check out, just leave your dirty towels in the bathroom and the beds unmade. I only ask that you wash any dishes that you used.
And consider leaving a note in our guestbook to let us know how your stay was.
Connectivity

The WiFi network is Serenity Guest Network and no password is required.
There is a Bluetooth speaker in the hallway for you to use with your Devices. To connect you just have to move the switch on top to turn on (toggle toward the back), and then to pair your bluetooth device, press and hold the knob in the center for a few seconds until the white light starts blinking.
Additional Information

Upstairs in the loft you’ll find 2 additional beds as well as plenty of board games.
There is a smart television upstairs in the loft area you can stream to from your handheld devices, or there are Netflix and MAX subscriptions. And if you need to get some work done, there is a desk for your use, with a wireless printer you connect to via the wifi network.
In the kitchen there are pots and pans and dinner ware for you to use. Pink dishes in the dining room cabinet are available to use if you wish, but they are not microwave safe- please do not put them in the microwave. You’ll find a coffee maker on the counter (check out the coffee section of this guide). Remember to wash all dishes and utensils prior to leaving.
The home has a septic system, so please do not put coffee grounds, grease, fat or anything non-biodegradable, diapers, or sanitary napkins down any drain.
Outdoors you’ll find chairs and a table (cushions for the chairs are kept in an outdoor box behind the dining room-please return them to box when you are finished with them); a charcoal grill (there is a starter chimney in the outdoor box and you may find some leftover charcoal there); and there is a gas fire table for those colder nights (a spare gas bottle is in the outdoor box as well).
House Rules
- First and foremost, enjoy your stay.
- We love dogs and cats, and understand that pets are family who mean a great deal to you, however this is a shared space and some of our guests have pet allergies, so we’re sorry you won’t be able to bring your furry friends with you.
- Our neighbors are very nice and they’ve been very kind and helpful since I bought the house, and I try to pay them back by asking my guests to respect the neighborhood as well. We do not allow large parties or events. Also, the neighborhood association has established quiet hours from 10pm until 7am.
- There is no smoking in the house. If you do smoke in the outdoors, please dispose of your butts accordingly by placing extinguished butts in the outdoor garbage can.
- Park only on the driveway.
- If you plan to go to the beach, please bring your beach towels. We only supply bath towels.
