Places to Shop Near Serenity

Groceries

If you want to cook at Serenity there are plenty of places to stock up on all the items you’ll need. First there are a couple of small shops right in town if you just need a couple of things:

Bell's Liquor and Deli

Bell’s Liquor and Deli Store is a deceptively small-looking General Store with a huge selection of beer and liquor, a nice sized grocery section for such a small place, newspapers from Chicago, Milwaukee and New York, and the best home made doughnuts around (but you have to get them before they sell out!). Oh, and of course, a nice selection of cheeses. Bell’s is open everyday from 6am to midnight. 659 E. Geneva St in Williams Bay.

Right in downtown Williams Bay, in the historic Bay Centre building you’ll find the Green Grocer where you can get organic and locally grown meats and packaged and bulk items as well as organic self care products for your body and hair. They also offer a nice selection of boutique wines and craft beer. Go in on a Saturday afternoon for their wine and beer tastings. They also have a deli offering delicious soups and great sandwiches and wraps. You can call and order in advance 262-245-9077 • 24 W. Geneva Street, Williams Bay

If you are looking for a larger Supermarket there are a few in the neighboring towns.
Daniels’ Sentry in Walworth at 681 Kenosha Street.
Piggly Wiggly in Delavan at 1414 Geneva Street
Piggly Wiggly in Lake Geneva at 100 E. Geneva Square
And my favorite, the Piggly Wiggly in Elkhorn at 58 West Market Street (really just straight up 67 from Serenity).

Pearce’s Farm Stand

farm stand

It doesn’t get any fresher than buying produce right from the farmer who grew it, and here at Serenity we are just a corn cob’s throw away from Pearce’s Farm Stand, and a trip to Pearce’s is practically an event. From July through October every year they offer the very best in locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables and more. I can’t leave there without a big bunch of their sweet corn which is so delicious it never needs any of the seasonings you might normally add. They also sell local jams, jellies and honey as well as fresh donuts and kettle corn. Allow time to check out their corn maze and let the kids jump on hay bales and climb the lookout tower.

Pearce’s Farm Stand is open every day from 9 to 5:30 July through October; W5740 North Walworth Road (just past Yerkes Observatory)

Riga-Tony’s

I’ve listed this Italian Deli in the places to eat section but I want to mention it here too because you can get everything you need to make a great Italian dinner, or your own fresh pizza at Riga Tony’s. And it’s just a short drive around the corner from Serenity at 5576 C State Road 50.

Regular Farmers Markets

Lake Geneva Farmers Market at Horticulture Hall Thursdays from 8 until 1 May through October; 330 Broad Street, Lake Geneva.

Delavan’s Fresh Market Thursdays from 3 until 6pm June through August; Tower Park, 117 Park PLace, Delavan.
Williams Bay Farmers Market every Friday from 8:30 to 1:30 Memorial Day to Labor Day; at Edgewater Park by the lake in Williams Bay.

Geneva Outdoor Market Saturdays from 9 until 1pm June through October; N3253 County Rd H, Lake Geneva.

Blue Clay Berry Farms is just around the corner from Serenity where you can pick fresh berries everyday in season June through September. 5154 State Road 50. Check their website for what’s in season. www.blueclayberryfarm.com

You can visit Dungeon Hobby Shop Museum, in the original home of TSR, the founding company of Dungeons and Dragons role playing game, 723 Williams St., Lake Geneva.
